SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. β A tragic accident claimed the life of a 43-year-old bicyclist in Santa Rosa County on Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on State Road 87 near Hopewell Road in Milton. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the bicyclist from Jay was riding northbound in the travel lane.
A sedan driven by a 35-year-old woman from Brewton, Alabama, was also traveling northbound when it struck the bicyclist, throwing him into the southbound lane. At the same time, a second sedan driven by a 39-year-old woman from Chickamauga, Georgia, was traveling southbound and collided with the man.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
