A tragic incident occurred on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County, where a man was found deceased in his vehicle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the discovery was made by a road ranger on Saturday, June 22, around 11 a.m.
The road ranger noticed a Dodge Ram parked on the eastbound shoulder near mile marker 20. Upon approaching the truck, the ranger found a man slumped over inside and was unable to wake him. In response, the ranger contacted EMS and FHP dispatch for assistance.
A Florida trooper soon arrived at the scene and broke one of the truck’s windows to gain access. Shortly after, Santa Rosa County paramedics arrived and confirmed that the man was deceased.
The FHP has stated that this is an ongoing investigation.
