West Virginia Governor Jim Justice (R) made a unique appearance at the Republican National Convention, accompanied by his pet bulldog, “Babydog,” on Tuesday. During his speech, Justice shared Babydog’s playful prediction for the 2024 election.
Justice began by addressing the audience with enthusiasm. “I know that a lot of you want to meet my little buddy. So, if Babydog could come on out here,” he announced. To the crowd’s delight, Babydog was brought on stage and placed on a chair next to the governor.
“You didn’t really expect that, did you?” Justice remarked, adding, “Let me just say this. She makes us smile and she loves everybody, and how could the message possibly be any more simple than just that?”
Justice continued his speech by praising former President Donald Trump and his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. He shared a personal anecdote about Eric Trump, recounting a time when Eric helped him change a tire in a remote location.
“Now imagine this, Eric and I have been so far back in the woods on top of a mountain and I blew the tire out on the back of my 4×4, and who was under the vehicle right then? Eric Trump,” Justice recalled. “Eric Trump changed the tire. Donald Trump has taught his kids the very best.”
As his speech neared its conclusion, Justice revealed Babydog’s lighthearted prediction for the 2024 election. “Now, Babydog’s got a prediction for everybody here, and here’s the prediction,” he said. “Babydog says we’ll retain the majority in the House, we’re going to flip the United States Senate, and overwhelmingly we’re going to elect Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance in November.”
Justice wrapped up his speech with Babydog’s reasoning. “And Babydog says, what is the reason that she knows why we’re going to win? And the answer is one thing: because we’re worth it.”
