MORGANTOWN, W.Va – Looking for a way to stay active this summer? Why not try yoga? Every Wednesday, the West Virginia Botanic Garden offers a yoga class for those looking to relieve stress and enjoy the outdoors.
Instructor Miranda Talkington highlights the benefits of practicing yoga outside.
“You get to surround yourself with the features of nature, which can be very relaxing and calming,” Talkington said. “Unlike indoors with flat surfaces, the natural landscape here presents challenges that can also be fun. A big part of yoga is your eye gaze, and in nature, you have many beautiful things to focus on.”
Talkington, who has been teaching yoga since 2018, emphasizes that yoga can help build a union between mind and body. She encourages everyone to sign up.
“The class is every Wednesday. Just visit the Botanic Garden website, go to the events section, and find our wellness programs. They offer various wellness activities, including forest walks. To join the yoga class, simply sign up on the calendar.”
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to stay active and connect with nature this summer!
