According to UNILAD, In a heartbreaking incident, a North Hills, Los Angeles woman has reported that her cherished dog was killed after a package was thrown over her gate.
Naria Harutjunjan, who lives in North Hills, was attending to her two dogs, Cookie and Lulu, when she let them into the garden to play shortly after 5:00 PM. Noticing that the dogs had gathered around the front gate, Harutjunjan decided to bring Cookie inside. However, upon returning to retrieve Lulu, she discovered that a package—roughly the size of a microwave—had landed on her dog.
Harutjunjan, who had adopted Lulu just last year, recounted the traumatic experience to CBS, saying, “I took the package and saw my dog; she couldn’t move anymore.”
Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s CCTV cameras captured the incident. The video reveals a UPS driver walking up to the gate with the parcel before forcefully tossing it over. The driver is then seen squatting, seemingly checking under the gate, before driving away.
UPS has confirmed to the New York Post that they are aware of the incident and will be conducting an investigation.
Harutjunjan described her grief, saying, “My neighbors assisted me in taking Lulu to the Mission Hills clinic, but she was already gone.”
The UPS driver, delivering an Amazon package, reportedly did not use Harutjunjan’s Ring doorbell or follow standard delivery procedures before hurling the package, which weighed approximately as much as three-and-a-half bowling balls.
Reflecting on the last moments she spent with Lulu, Harutjunjan said, “The day before, as I let her outside, I told her, ‘I don’t know why, Lulu, but I love you so much.’ It was the last time I saw her.”
Harutjunjan is now considering legal action against UPS, the delivery driver, and Amazon. A UPS spokesperson stated, “We are aware of the situation in North Hills and are deeply concerned. We have been in contact with the customer, are investigating the matter, and will take appropriate action.”
