Walmart is offering entrepreneurs and small business owners a chance to become suppliers with their United States-made products. The retail giant is now accepting applications for its Open Call event, where participants can pitch their products to be sold by Walmart or Sam’s Club, both in stores and online.
According to a Walmart press release, successful applicants will have the opportunity to engage in mentoring sessions with Walmart leaders, listen to special guest speakers, and participate in a pitch meeting with Walmart and/or Sam’s Club merchants.
The purpose of Open Call, as stated in the release, is to “bolster U.S. manufacturing by sourcing shelf-ready products that are made, grown, or assembled in the U.S.” Walmart has committed $350 billion towards this initiative.
The application deadline for the program is Monday, July 15, with the main Open Call event scheduled for September 24-25. You can apply for the program here.
