WEST VIRGINIA – West Virginia and Ohio lawmakers have taken to social media to express their support for President Donald Trump following a suspected shooting incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
During the rally, President Trump was abruptly escorted off stage by the Secret Service after alleged shots were heard from the crowd. Although President Trump assured the audience that he was fine, blood appeared to be running down his neck.
U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito from West Virginia posted on social media, “Praying for President Trump, everyone at the rally, and our country.”
U.S. Senator from Ohio and potential Vice President candidate JD Vance expressed his concerns on X, stating, “Absolute ghouls,” followed by, “Trump campaign saying the President is OK. Thank God. Hope everyone else is safe.”
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown from Ohio also took to X, posting, “We are praying for the health and safety of President Trump, his family, and all those attending the rally in Butler, Pa. tonight.”
U.S. Representative Alex Mooney from West Virginia urged, “Pray for President Trump,” in his X post.
Ohio U.S. Representative Michael Rulli tweeted, “They may try to lie, cheat, steal and kill. But they will never win. Trump, now more than ever.”
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine shared on X, “Fran and I are praying for President Trump, his family, and our country.”
West Virginia Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Justice posted on Facebook, “Please stop what you are doing and pray for President Trump, the Trump family, and the Secret Service and law enforcement around them.”
West Virginia Senator Ryan Weld also shared his thoughts on Facebook, stating, “This is America- Political violence is never the answer. May God protect President Trump and others at today’s rally.”
