CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has issued a proclamation declaring July 5th, 2024, the day after Independence Day, as a full-day state holiday for public employees.
βWe should all take time to reflect on all the sacrifices made by our veterans and active-duty military members this Independence Day,β Gov. Justice said. βTheir sacrifices are the reason we can celebrate the freedoms of this great nation. I hope all our state employees take time to reflect on this while spending time with their family and friends this weekend.β
Governor Justice expressed his hope that public employees will spend some additional time outdoors.
