WEST VIRGINIA (Wvprepbb) β Regarding the July 4 holiday, the West Virginia State Police issued the following statement:
βIn an attempt to keep drivers safe during holiday travel, the West Virginia State Police will be conducting statewide traffic enforcement during the week and weekend of July 4th.
We would like to advise drivers to exercise patience as increased traffic levels are anticipated. In addition, drivers should not drive after intoxication, utilize seat belts, observe posted speed limits, and use hands-free devices when using telephones.
βWe also ask that you move over when you see police conducting traffic stops or emergency vehicles assisting stranded drivers. Please pay attention in construction/work zones.β
Additionally, we are requesting that everyone remember to use extreme caution when utilizing fireworks. Utilize fireworks only in locations where it is secure to do so. Due to the unusually dry weather, please be mindful of potential fire threats, including forested areas.
βHappy and safe Fourth of July!β
