The local paper in West Virginia wrote about a young man who had never missed a day of school from kindergarten through high school.
This year, Wyatt Chesnut graduated from Riverside High School with a 4.2 GPA and a record of 100% attendance. He attributes both of these accomplishments to his parents’ support and praise.
In an interview with WCHS Eyewitness News, Chestnut said that most people don’t believe him, but the school district gave him a certificate to prove it, which he is happy to use to end any fights.
Chestnut said, “I never missed a day. It’s hard to do the same thing for 18 years right after another.”“
“I missed a lot of trips and sick days.” “I just put my head on the desk instead of the bed,” he said, adding that there weren’t many because he thought he had a strong immune system.
Besides doing well in school, he was also very interested in sports after school. He won awards in wrestling and competed in soccer, track and field, and basketball.
He liked to fish, hunt, and go camping in West Virginia’s wild and beautiful countryside during the summers and on the weekends. It was there that he collected mineral samples.
During college, he wants to study biology and law enforcement with the goal of becoming a fish and game warden, turning a hobby and interest into a job. However, Wyatt’s perfect attendance record might be more important to potential employers than his degree.
